Where does the name Grombo come from?
The name “Grombo” was a nickname given to the original owner of the company while he was in the US Army. It is a play on words combining his last name “Grom” with the legendary soldier of fortune from the movie “Rambo”. He received this nickname by his continued toughness and refusal to believe that any task was too hard, or any mission was unwinnable. Over the years since leaving the military the nickname has evolved to different meanings. So, what does it mean now…. well

Grombo is not really a person, but a state of mind, an attitude, a drive, a desire, a belief, a consistent will to be better than they were yesterday. They are mostly not the winners of races or the first-place finisher. They are the ones that dig deep inside themselves and continue to strive to best themselves. They have something deep inside them that refuses to throw in the towel or quit. They are the ones that get out there and try and try harder the next time and keep on trying until they reach that goal. With the sweat dripping down their face, body heating up, breathing heavy, their mind telling them to quit, but they will not stop ever, they will push forward and push through till the end. They know that strength grows in the moments that you can't go on, but you keep going anyway. They come face to face with their fears and accept nothing short of victory over them and earning the title of CHAMPION.
